Terms of use,also in plain words.

Ultrabasic Labs LLP, Bengaluru, India — “we” on this page — and you, whoever is using this site. Using it at all means these terms apply. If you would rather they did not, the remedy is the ordinary one: stop using the site.

Two documents sit beside this one. The privacy page covers what we do with your data. If you are a client or a partner, the contract we signed with you governs the work — and where that contract and this page disagree, the contract wins.

It is information. Prices, timelines and capabilities described here are how we usually work, not a quote and not an offer you can accept. A price becomes real when we write it down for your project and you agree to it.

The case studies are concept work. Northwind, Meridian, Lumen and Cedar are studies we wrote to show how we think. The clients, the people and the numbers in them are invented, every one of those pages says so on it, and nothing in them is a claim about a real engagement or a result you should expect from one. Our own products — Daypost, Vaaho.ai and Dusk — are real, and what we say about those is meant literally.

Writing on this site is not advice. The Insights posts are general, written without knowing anything about your situation, and are not legal, financial or technical advice for it.

A form is a conversation, not a contract. Sending a brief, an enquiry or an application does not create an engagement, a seat in the partner programme, a place on GoodWork, or a job. We read everything and answer either way.

What you send stays yours. We do not take ownership of an idea because you described it in a form. We use what you send to answer you and to run the process you started, and for nothing else. If an idea needs protecting before you describe it, ask us for an NDA first and we will sign one.

Be accurate, and be entitled to send it. Do not send us someone else’s confidential material, or anything you do not have the right to share. Do not send us malware, and do not use our forms for bulk or unsolicited mail.

Your account is yours to look after. It is issued to a person, not shared around a company. Keep the password to yourself, and tell us the moment you think somebody else has it.

What it is for. Reading your proposals, projects, invoices, messages and files, and writing to us. Client and partner accounts cannot delete studio records. That is deliberate, and it is what makes the trail worth anything to either of us.

What we ask you not to do. Do not try to reach data that is not yours, do not probe or scan the thing, and do not automate against it without asking us first. Finding a hole is welcome: write to hello@ultrabasiclabs.com rather than anywhere else, give us a fair window to fix it, and we will thank you properly.

Access ends when the work does. We tell you before we close an account, and you can ask for a copy of what was in it.

This site is ours. The words, the photographs, the drawings, the design system and the code under it. Read it, quote it with a link, send it to someone. Do not republish it as your own, and do not use the Ultrabasic name, the wordmark or the foil to suggest we are involved in something we are not.

Other people’s marks are theirs. Product and company names on this site belong to whoever owns them, and appear here to say what we work with.

Work we do for you is yours, on the terms your contract sets out. That document decides it, not this page.

The site. We keep it up and we keep it accurate, and we do not guarantee either. It can go down, a page can fall out of date, and a link can point somewhere that changed after we wrote it. Pages we link to are not ours and are not ours to answer for.

The limit. Nothing here limits our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows: we are not liable for lost profit, lost data, lost business or any indirect loss arising out of using this site, and our total liability for the site itself is capped at five thousand rupees. This paragraph is about the site. What we owe you on a project is in your contract, and this does not touch it.

Indian law governs this page, and the courts of Bengaluru have jurisdiction over anything arising from it. If you are a consumer somewhere whose law gives you more than this does, you keep it — nothing here removes a right you hold where you live.

If we change these terms, the new version goes up here with a new date at the top. Carrying on using the site is how you accept it. We do not email about it, and we do not backdate it.

A complaint — about this site, about your data, about anything on either — goes to hello@ultrabasiclabs.com, which reaches a person at the studio and not a queue. We acknowledge inside one working day and answer properly inside fifteen. If a paragraph of this page turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of it stands.
